Do It Anyway
Recently I’ve been asked by several people as to what the philosophy is behind buddi bench? My overarching goal is to offer: “Creative responses to human distress”. I’m trying to focus on the solutions rather than articulate how terrible the world is at times.
I try to acknowledge the realities of life but recognise that my energy is better spent focusing on what I can control and recognising that when surrounded by darkness the answer is to be the flame, however flickering.
A while ago I directed a cute animation which hopefully conveys to you my thinking about this buddi bench adventure I’m on.
If you like it, tell your friends. If you don’t, tell me! The way we learn to walk is by falling over.

Do it Anyway
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centred.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
